Pilates Rehabilitation
Pilates is a method of exercise that focuses
on whole body movements coordinated with the breath. Instead
of isolating muscle groups, the technique integrates the arms
and legs with the core or “trunk” of the body. All
movements are precise and controlled, focusing on improving strength,
flexibility, and the mind-body connection.
The rehabilitation exercises are designed to:
- Stabilize the spine
- Eliminate excessive muscle
effort
- Elongate spine
- Improve posture, coordination, and balance
In addition, Pilates will:
- Build longer/leaner muscles
- Help prevent injury
- Balance strength and flexibility
- Offer no-impact movements
- Improve performance in sports
Stillpoint Studios, adjacent to Spring Hill Physical Therapy & Acupuncture,
