Meditation
“We work on ourselves in order to help others, but also we help others in order to work on ourselves.” ~ Pema Chodron
Grass Valley Shambhala Meditation Group
“Shambhala” is the name of a mythical kingdom in ancient Tibet where an enlightened society is said to have flourished. The Grass Valley group is a religious and educational organization with roots in Tibetan Buddhism. Shambhala is committed to bringing the practice of sitting meditation to anyone who is interested in practicing. They offer sitting meditation, walking meditation and free meditation instruction. Educational programs are provided by teachers with advanced training through Shambhala International. The group has chosen to present audio and video classes taught by Pema Chodron each year. Local student/teacher, Lea Barrow, is trained as both a meditation instructor and teacher of beginning dharma classes. She has been a student of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche since 1979.
Church of the Essence
The Church seeks to be a center of Light, helping ourselves and others to experience Universal Spirit and to raise the energy of the planet.
Church of the Essence is dedicated to helping people raise their consciousness by increasing their intuitive and spiritual awareness. The work of the Church is done through weekly spiritual gatherings, individual intuitive readings, intuitive healings, and classes in expanded perception. We honor and respect everyone's personal choice in beliefs or religions, therefore in all presentations and in our classes we teach tools that enhance and promote personal spiritual growth. Church Of The Essence welcomes all denominations, orientations and all others, who share a similar commitment to the Light and their own truth. Our soul purpose is to help earth and all life upon it to evolve the way God & the Universe intends. www.churchoftheessence.org
